Help Shave the Peak!
When it's hot, the peaker power plants come on line to meet the increased demand. Help us avoid this by
keeping your electricity use low
from 3:00-7:00 pm.
- Turn your AC temperature up a few degrees;
- Don't run high-energy appliances like washing machines, dryers, and dishwashers;
- Hold on charging your electric car if you have one!

|
~ COOLING TIPS! ~
- If you have the AC on, use a fan at the same time. The moving air will make it feel cool at a higher AC temperature setting.
- Pull the shades down to block heat gain.
- If you are replacing an AC unit, get an efficient one! Go to the Cape Light Compact site for rebates and to get a deal on insulating your house better.

SENATOR ED MARKEY NEEDS
OUR SUPPORT
He is being challenged by Congressman Joe Kennedy III who is not a climate advocate. Senator Markey wrote the original climate legislation in 2008. He drafted the Green New Deal in the Senate alongside Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in the House. He is a clear leader with a long record and years of experience in government, working to confront the climate crisis.
VOTE for him on September 1st.

- There have been some progressive climate bills in our State Legislature but none have passed this session.
- Learn more about the bills here, tell your Legislators they matter to you and stay tuned for how we can support these efforts.
